Some Recent Snappings..

..on a misty afternoon in St Helena Bay.

I had barely stepped out the door before spotting my first target. The mist was hanging thick, forming delicate pearl-like droplets on this spider’s web.

On the way out..

..and on the way home.

The gnarly thorns provide an added layer of protection, as well as convenient ‘nails’ to keep their nests securely in place.

The truckers often form this laager, so they can easily banter to each other from the comfort of their cabs. Vocal bunch.. They flashed their lights to say hello..

I end up walking behind these truck drivers on the way to the shops in the near distance. Three equidistant anythings always catches my eye, so I snap a quick shot for fun.

They hear someone behind them, turn around..

..and immediately start ‘cutting some shapes’ for the benefit of the camera. “Take a photo of us”!

The next question always is, “what are you going to do with those photos.. put them on Facebook”?!

“I’ll sell them for a million bucks, and give you half", I respond, with a smile. We all laugh. I gave them my card so I can send them a copy if they want.

Warm people. Real.

Handsome free-range rooster strutting his stuff. Well, quickly gapping it past me after much internal dialogue.

Not abandoned, but owner nowhere in sight.

Razor wire, for once free of ensnared plastic, feature quite a lot in my photos, along with poles and fences.

And I’ve no idea why.

As do washing lines. This washing line is always busy..

(..but not always.)

Some more laundry. Duvet catching literally the last few seconds of sunlight.

Child’s footprint, smooth sand.

Newly erected bus stop on the freshly tarred road. The toemis comes and goes.

At the top of my steep hill, I turn right and head for home..

..past this old tree stump on my left..

..in time to see the evening routine, as about 25 guinea fowl study the tree, pick a perch before before noisily flapping up, one-by-one, into the Norfolk pine, their home. You can hardly detect the suspicious-looking lumps up in the branches.

These birds are ungainly fliers at best, but there is one poor dude/ette with a gammy leg, who is always the last one out the gate. Dear Hop-A-Long has a problem getting a good launch going with only one strong leg.
