Minimalism

The Cambridge dictionary defines minimalism as a style in art and design that uses the smallest possible range of materials and colours, and only very simple shapes or forms. I belong to several Minimalist photography groups, and some might disagree with this definition; it’s certainly an evolving genre.

  • “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.” — Leonardo da Vinci

  • “The most uninteresting things can be very interesting.” — Saul Leiter

  • “The world could have been as simple as the sky and the sea.” — André Malraux

  • “I am not interested in shooting new things – I am interested to see things new.” — Ernst Haas

I have sprinkled quotes throughout my website. You can find an exhaustive list of quotes by famous photographers, artists, and thinkers here…
