My Son Took Me Flying!

My son recently obtained his Private Pilot License (PPL) and treated me to a flight around the peninsula. A wonderful experience in more ways than one! I’m super proud of my lad!

Below is the route we took, along with some photos taken through the not-exactly-clean plane windows.

We headed straight out to skirt Robben Island; it’s a no-fly zone directly above it.

Interesting pool, and I wonder what those white ‘things’ are to the left? Also Robben Island.

Quite a dashboard! Pity I didn’t get the row of further controls into the frame.

Our coastline is treacherous!

Lion’s Head. Sometimes paragliders above us; sometimes helicopters below us, constant communication going on between pilots.
