Montagu: First Impressions.

These photos probably won’t be what you were expecting to see, unless you know me.. 😊

The Montagu sign up on the mountain, which burned just a few months ago.

Montagu sunset, helped with some residual smoke from recent fires in the area.

I’m sorry I didn’t get her name, but I did get her permission, and gave her my ‘business’ card.

Deep, dappled shade at the local nursery.

Peeping into other people’s gardens. Agapanthus are synonymous with summer, here in the Cape.

Textures under the Gluebum trees.. 😜

More textures.

Pods from the Bauhinia galpinii, with a baby taking root.

Bowl’s Up! A gentle offshore breeze for the bowlers.

Bowling green with a view.

Another image for my silhouette series.

Sacred Ibis. Taken from the little hide at their breeding ground.

No points for guessing this street’s name.

And another for the b-side of life.

The local.. 😳

The waiting room, looking out towards the mountain and the morgue, over some boxes of freebies.

The feeling you’re being watched! See no evil..

It’s great to have a friend..

.. who also enjoys photography.

One of the oldest houses in Montagu.

Smoky haze from nearby fires.

I thought it was an acacia, which it isn’t, but I still need to ID it. Anybody?

Symbiotic relationship

Juxtaposes. I do take lots of photos of poles and pylons, for some unknown reason.

Our street lamp shines directly onto the garden and stoep. The Municipality painted half of the light black on request, within three days!

When one has time on their hands.

A ‘bokeh’ pole.

There are quite a few Victorian houses, with corrugated iron roofs and filigree, aka broekie lace, on the stoeps.
