Another Full Moon in Montagu
As I didn’t use my compass app, I had only the vaguest clue where to expect the moon to rise. I was wishfully thinking it might line up with the main road through Montagu, the R62. Of course I was proved horribly wrong.
Here is the sequence of me walking around town trying to find a decent vantage point. As I’ve explained before, I ain’t no Astro photographer. Apart from the splendid sight of a full moonrise, and the importance it plays with the tides and certain surf spots, it has another, deeper connotation for me, which I’ll explain in a future post.
All photos are taken with my all-purpose 24-105mm Canon lens, a lovely piece of glass.
Ok then, it’s caught me completely by surprise, rising above the Spar. Time to relocate in a hurry.
I walk up the hill, further into town, hoping to catch the moon rising behind those signal towers. Below is last month’s attempt, but I was a bit late on it.
Taken the night before Full Moon.
A few parting shots. The moon now has some competition from other lights.
I circled back to the Spar, before its 7pm closing time.
Full moon rising up through the newly-built neighbour’s chimney.
