Tiny Creatures
Putting my all-purpose and currently only lens, the Canon RF 24-105mm, to the test in a semi-macro environment..
I don’t normally do this type of photography, which ideally requires an expensive macro lens, but it is nice to be able to take the occasional close-up of flowers etc..
Coming in hot!
Tucking in..
Even the lowly fly has gotta eat!
Prehistoric looking bug, similar to a dung beetle, but isn’t. One of the Toktokkie family?
Sharing is caring
Unknown bug, looks a bit like a small wasp..
I struggled a bit with this ladybird in the shadows.
A bloukop koggelmander, aka the blue-headed tree agama (Acanthocercus atricollis), giving me the stink-eye.
This fine specimen of a daddy long-legs was bouncing on his trampoline, as they do when you touch their web, a few inches off the floor.
This strange plant provides sustenance to a lot of creatures. These are the local spider-like ants.
Even butterflies visit this plant. Those globs, btw, aren’t wet to the touch, but more like silicon.
Interesting bug. Photo taken with my previous camera and lens, a Canon EF 28-135mm. Silvermine Nature Reserve.
Heading home from the parlour..
