The Week’s Takings..
I take photos of anything that catches my eye. Like I say, my middle name should be Random. ( I used to say it should be Frank). To simplify, I’m going to post up small selections of favourite photos taken during the week. So please, take it as it comes.. :)
I think it’s a Zephyr, with its single front seat, the car of choice for romancing couples..
Awaiting further instructions..
Afrika! You know you’re in Africa when..
Birds waiting patiently, on the low tide-exposed rocks, for the meeting to begin..
It’s almost time, the meeting will commence shortly, let’s get front-row seats. I’m not sure what the collective noun is, but a shit-ton, or maybe a constellation of birds heads off. They do occasionally do their murmuration thing...
They assembled in front of me, and peppered me with questions, “What are you going to do about the gill nets, the excessive fishing, the micro-plastic, the rubbish floating in the ocean, that’s trapping us, poisoning us, and starving us?!”
Like in the 60s, when having a flock of kitch (now highly collectible) porcelain flying ducks on your wall was in vogue, here, old fishing boats, repurposed as garden planters, are de rigueur in my fishing village.
What can I say..?!
An arb trading store, somewhere in the Karoo, complete with a bakkie with side bars to prevent livestock from jumping overboard, sensing impending doom, while a local Rasta passes by.
Take a seat.. I love minimalism, and photography of the mundane. More here..
Paying homage to the all-important toilet roll.. :)
White-on-white has always appealed to me.
