Signs of the Times
Return to Go..
Shift workers
It’s amazing how they illuminate when the sun shines directly on them. More Stop/Go photos here..
A quick snap from the car of these colourful fruit & veg sellers and sometimes a mound of toilet rolls, that always catches my eye. They used to have a sign saying ‘No Jokes’ next to their prices.
Today, not so much. One can see a bit of a sandstorm in the distance, though. There’s a photo here, on the same stretch of road on another day, with much more of a blizzard..
Classic vintage signs. Barrydale.
Sign on deck..
My headlights brought this sign to life.
No kidding!
I’m sure this long-standing sign has brought a smile to much of Cape Town..
I think I was just attracted to the composition and the light. Shot from my car.
The dreaded Stop/Go in St Helena Bay, as they upgrade the main road.. More photos here..
There are many duikers around here, this road takes one to Duyker Eiland/Island (not an actual island)..
I have a story about an unfortunate duiker bokkie here..
Spoilt for choice!
A happy customer.. :)
The leisurely pace of life up the Weskus.. :) From this point on, travel in reverse, on your roof. This sign has subsequently been removed completely.
Indeed, it costs nothing! It’s a pity this sign no longer exists.
One of my favourite memes :)
No Thumbs Up here..
One does see them occasionally crossing the road… slowly!
:(
Tractor country. More photos of Tractors here..
Kleinvlei farm, somewhere in the Karoo..
Hey, Homii.. Old and new architecture in Cape Town.
Stop, Hay Bales Crossing! If you like hay bales, more photos here..
Doing street photography in Cape Town is hazardous. “I’ll have that camera, thanks very much!”, said the well-mannered mugger, unless you resist.
You’ll be lucky to spot one nowadays, especially here.
A quick shot from the car..
Impressive Afrotemperate forest, inland from Wilderness, worth a visit.
Thankfully there are still many whales in the bay, mostly humpbacks..
I’d hazard a guess and say this sign now forms part of a shack..
