Picnic Spots On The Road

Gotta love some of the enticing public picnic spots to stop, stretch the legs, have a munch and a break, or even a quick nap.

In the Karoo, somewhere. The hardy trees that accompany many of these roadside picnic spots are the Schinus molle, aka Brazilian/Peruvian/Californian pepper tree, provide a wonderful respite from the searing sun. I used to think they were indigenous to South Africa incorrectly..

On some Weskus backroad..

Sandwiches and sea breeze, with a view, Doring Bay

In the Boland somewhere..

Near Clanwilliam, with heavy weather ahead..
